Day 3 - Sunday

Not much happened adoption-wise. However, spending several hours with the missionaries was a source of lots insight into the culture. For example, we learned that the Ethiopian Orthodox Church often severely persecutes any other forms of Christianity as much as other religions do. The church service this morning was a one-hour guided prayer service. Didn't really get a feel for "typical" Ethiopian Christian worship but the people were friendly as could be afterwards. Here are some pictures of our day.

A little beggar boy running along the side of our vehicle after we gave him food. The missionaries make it a practice never to give money as many homeless kids use it to buy glue to sniff.

We ate lunch at Top View Restaurant with Howie and Bev Shute, missionaries, and Getachew, their field assistant.

Top View Restaurant has a great view of a large portion of Addis Ababa.

Construction has a much different feel than in the U.S. No OSHA inspectors here!
